Done this over the course of a few days while following the Digital Tutors’ Automotive Modelling for 3ds Max training. While it’s a great course i think it was sort of rushed out. In future car models I might make I’ll give a LOT more tome to some parts I feel were rushed through in the DVD. Anyway, the course covers modelling and explains very, very briefly the rendering of the cover model they show (which I found to be somewhat misleading), so this is as far as I got with materials and render set-up. It’s not bad, but it’s far from good. As soon as I can I’ll watch the 1h DVD from Gnomon about automotive rendering and see if I can produce better results with this model.
